I just wrapped up my first season with Lakme Fashion Week, and after a week of rest I am finally on my way to recovery. Throughout the fashion week, as I observed people, some dressed in their spectacular best while a few others struggling, I thought to myself, this had to definitely go down on my blog – A quick Fashion Week survival Kit.
I have in the past, been a part of London Fashion Week as well and realised, along with being at your stylish best, you also have to give comfort a fair bit of importance. Getting noticed is no good, if you are struggling to walk in 6 inches stilettos or frozen numb from the skimpy outfit in sub-zero temperatures!
Most Fashion Weeks are spread across a large space with a lot of interesting properties, neither of which you would want to miss, so its important you pick sassy but comfortable footwear. (Read : https://msshinyshorts.wordpress.com/2015/04/04/because-comfort-is-sassy/ )
Same goes for the outfits!
Wearing designer clothes is great, but don’t fret if you’ve run out or don’t have any! Its all about street style. Bring out clothes that you haven’t worn in a while, it will give you a sense of wearing a brand new outfit. Style it with one statement piece; could be your favourite trend of the season.
Accessories always help amp up the style quotient, however, please use wisely. Do not step out looking a christmas tree.
Fashion Week is all about new trends, styles and creativity, please do not dress up like you are going to a night club or a fancy dress party. Details is the Keyword!
Dress according to the weather! It might be the Summer/Resort edition but if it is snowing, you would want to cover yourself up. Do not wear furry boots just because it is the winter/festive edition, but raining cats and dogs!
Dont kill yourself over putting together an outrageous ensemble. Be yourself, and it will reflect in your style; which in turn will make you shine, without putting an exceptional effort!
PS: Do not forget to carry nutri-bars to make sure you are not piling up empty calories and keeping yourself from letting the bubbly get to you!
