I bought a faux leather knee-length shift dress from Zara, about 2 months ago and it still lies neatly piled with the price tags on. The thing with leather is, it does not easily pass off as a casual outing outfit, but can easily look trashy if not worn with the appropriate accessories (read minimal) and appropriate occasion. It is a way edgier version of a Little Black Dress.
Since, almost every other day of the week I have some kind of party/ get together to attend, I thought it was finally time to bring out the rock-chic LBD out of its comfort zone. I am sure most of you would’ve guessed by now what this post is going to be about; yup! how to wear leather?!
Leather has a very strong personality of its own and its best when worn with minimal accessories.
Skirt/Shorts : With the onset of autumn/winter, pull-overs and cardigans would look great with faux leather skirt, be it A-line a fitted/pencil skirt or shorts. For a night-out, pair a high-waist skirt with a crop-top or even a sequined top.
Dress : A leather is best worn with minimal accessories, striking make up and fabulous footwear to make the outfit pop.
Leggings : Faux leather leggings are the new staple that has replaced the classic black leggings. Wear them with shirts, t-shirts, crop-tops, sweaters, blazer, denim shirts or for that matter anything you’d want. Your wardrobe is your oyster.
